Call to Action to Protect Breastfeeding!
Help Us Reach Our Goal of 25 New Donors in August!
We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
August is the month we celebrate breast, chest and human milk feeding!
August brings us National Breastfeeding Month, World Breastfeeding Week, Indigenous Milk Medicine Week, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Breastfeeding Week, and Black Breastfeeding Week.
In conjunction with our breastfeeding advocacy arm #RVABreastfeeds, Nurture believes it is up to ALL of us to share the responsibility for creating a more Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community.
We are committed to increasing access to equitable, culturally appropriate breast/chestfeeding support.
- In June Nurture sent four women of color to The B.L.A.C.K. Course, a 45 Hour Lactation Course led by and for aspiring Black lactation professionals and Non-Black Allies supporting Black Communities.
- In August, we will launch Breastfeeding Real Talk: Virtual Support Edition to support Black and Brown families in their breast/chestfeeding journey.
- As part of our commitment to aligning stakeholders that serve growing families in Richmond, we are offering a FREE Collective Impact Workshop on August 5, in conjunction with CINCH and #757 Breastfeeds.
- Nurture is also collaborating with Postpartum Support Virginia to offer training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders for Lactation Support Providers, which addresses needs identified in our COVID-19 Survey of Pregnant and Postpartum People.
